Then at the end of seven days, the Blessed One emerged from that concentration, approaching from Mucalinda tree to Rajayatana tree, sitting cross-legged for seven days experiencing the happiness of liberation. Then two merchants: Tapussa and Bhallika came from Ukkala, just passed here. There was a god who has the blood relationship with those two merchants; said to them: "Hello, the Blessed-One was just enlightenment, living at the root of Rajayatana. Quick, offer him some honey and flour; this will let you long benefit and bliss." Then Tapussa and Bhallika heard this and took some honey and flour to Buddha, bowed to Buddha and stood at a side, said to him: "Bhante, please accept out offer and let us to have long benefit and blissing." At that time, an idea came to the mind of Buddha: "Tathagata don't accept it by hands. How can I accept those honey and flour?" Then, Four Kings of God got Buddha's idea and offered 4 stone bowl from all sides to Buddha, said to him: "Bhante, please accept honey and flour." The Blessed One accepted this gift and also honey and flour. After finishing the eating, Tapussa and Bhallika bowed and requested Buddha: "Bhante, we take refuge to the Blesssed One and dhamma, and be the upasaka till the end of this life."
Tapussa and Bhallika are the lay-disciple who chants the two gatha first time.
