Dhamma 法的定義

Dhamma字義是保持，由字根 dhr 所衍生，包括的意思，計有：
1. 教義，例如法句經 Dhammapada

2. 經歷，例如法句經1，諸法意先導，manopubbangama dhamma，這裡的法指經驗或經歷。

3. 境界，例如 loka dhamma 或 dhamma-dhatu，法界

4. 真理，例如法句經5，dhammo sanantano，此為真理

5. 規則，例如緣生法，paticcasamuppanna-dhamma

6. 道德，例如dhammajivina，有道德的生活

7. 本性，例如marici dhammam 虛幻的本性

8. 特質，例如hinam dhammam低劣的特質或性格

1. pariyatti: study of Text/memoring of Buddha's teaching

2. patipati: practice

3. pativeta: realizing, penetration into

yam kinci dukkahm sambodhi sabbam tam phassa paccaya

whatever dukkha arises in life, all that is depending on contact/experience

yo paticcasamuppadam passati (He who sees dependent origination)

So Dhammam passati (sees the Dhamma=dependent origination)
